Still Alive Poem by Nosheen Irfan

Still Alive

Rating: 5.0

All brittle twigs
No flesh
Covering up
The abrasions
But can you say
It's all over for the tree
That's all bones
And no meat

Let the season shift
The heart too will heal
The tree will claim a new garment
And conceal the rough patches
There's life still
Beneath the dead skin
Of a heart in mourning.

A most deep and touching call for life, expressed in a most beautiful and touching way. A poem to remember, admirable in every way. Just precious! Triple A.

Excellent poem Nosheen. With climate change go check your winter trees, they, like ours, may have early spring buds on them.

Often people think that dry-looking trees are no longer alive, but even though their skin is dead, they are still alive in all sorrow, more attention is needed for the well-being of our earth, a very sad song captured so beautifully. TOP score and much much more. I have enjoyed it tremendously.
