Dieting On Poison Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Dieting On Poison

On both sides of an ignorance,
Indoctrinated staged in full display.
Facts incapable to face them.
Delusions to chase.
Excuses to make.
Responsibilities misplaced.
And minds glued to fantasies.
Easily done to erase truth.
Yet...
Celebrating on a daily basis,
Those same paths their ancestors paved.
While dieting on poison.
Licking fingers dripping with grease.
Expecting their lived hypocrisies.
To magically release their shut closed eyes,
From refusing kept denials.
And the comfort of what...
A self deception to them brings!
