Discontentment Poem by Obinna Kenechukwu Eruchie

Discontentment

Rating: 5.0

My eyes go wistful, but you will never note them.
Smiles I've thrown in vain to tell you how sweet it is
to see you face to face, taking you for a gem
gracing my life's atmosphere productive of bliss.
Your eyes are blind to my affectionate eyes to
hint at you, they reflect my heart's caught fire for you.

My voice to confess my love for you gives me fear,
your hand might widen the gap between you and I;
don't take me for a woman, whose mind's heart is queer
and in desperation lets her dignity fly.
How much my love burns for you, you have failed to see;
that brought forth a shadow looming over me.
