Distance Poem by Abdulmalik Abdullahi Bankanu

Distance

Rating: 4.5

It's thousands there
Distances really tear

Love makes me fear
Since when I can't here

Heaven I lost hear
With you I want rear

Something I can't bear
My life I can't care

My sense I left there
My most lovelier

My sheath in despair
My half of a pair

Whose sounds far in air
Pierce my heart as a spear

My one I want near
So close and so clear.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I departed my city for my studies to somewhere around the globe and I left my girlfriend over there. Then, she stops calling me as she use to.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I like the articulation of the poem. It's a beautiful love poem nicely penned from inner recesses of the heart with lovely rhyme scheme. Thanks for sharing Abdullahi. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

Even though the English in your poem is rough, I understood your feelings and I empathize. Peace to you, Abdulmalik

Love makes fear in distance. But love coming closer speaks about wonderful emotion of life. Very wise sharing....10

About your note: it happens.. and life is a complicated matter.. But I'd say that you haven't found your soul mate, yet.. About your poem: I think you should try free verse. In this write, you appear to be almost 'imprisoned' in your (forced) rhymed verse.. Anyway, thanks for sharing and.. WELCOME AT POEM HUNTER, Abdulmalik Keep on writing Blessings
