Diverging Life Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Diverging Life

Deep within my mind I dream
Of all the wonders she will bring
Longing for her in my wake
The loving heart for which I ache

When conscious finally slips away
And frees my lonely soul
I'll travel where my mistress waits
In a land that makes me whole

Not far from this existence
Is a place we call our home
Where time unbinds the bonds of life
To let our spirits roam

Within our world are many lands
Inside this magic realm
The changing waters are never cold
With a beauty that can overwhelm

Romantic flowers with sunny days
You can smell their fragrance in the air
Precious moments for perfect memories
That both of us will share

Living in a family dream
Where every day is portrayed just right
Leaves me with regret to wake
When our dawn fades into night

Forthcoming with the evening sky
I kiss her face goodbye
Until once again, I can share my bed
With a dream I made my life
