Call me -Dónall!
The ultrasound
hunts down
my liver
a great white whale
it roams
about the screen
trapped within
my body
as if it wanted to
break free
of me
& be
done with me
'Hey Moby..you & me
Moby...you & me! '
The technician
leaves the room.
I climb back
into my clothes
pretending to be
human.
My liver
captured on the screen
frozen as a scream
dragged aboard
a whaler.
Thoughts like seagulls
scatter across my mind.
I leave
feeling only
an emptiness
inside.
Great read, DD, featuring your usual view from a previously undiscovered angle. Always enjoyable. Don
