Don'tmisunderstand Me Pl. Poem by Amitava Sur

Don'tmisunderstand Me Pl.

The boy was telling the young girl -
"Pull your skirt a little up
So that I Canpush itin".

The girl looked andreplied the boy -
"Wait till I pull it up
Then you can push that in".

You all are thinking it's a sheer nuisance
What audacity I do have to write this slang

But no - believe me -
This was a reality,
I heard thisdialogue
In a crowded train.

The boy was with a luggage there
To put it under the bench
Where the girl was sitting over the bench
With her long skirt touching the floor.

Very smart! Goes to show how easily things can be taken out of context! Nicely done!

here i'd only put two, not three, s s into Misunderstand. :) and if you want to change Don'T to Don't, in the title, just leaving a space between the apostrophe and the t works for me i think; the same has happened to me i some titles. (to be continued) .............

Very intelligent presentation - it clearly shows that how often things are misunderstood.

This poem is a classic! So expertly depicting an actual conversation and ensuing actuality of what was really happening. Loved it, made me laugh out loud! Read it to my husband, he also laughed and enjoyed it immensely. Great poem, Amitava! RoseAnn

Funny how the ears are trained to hear what the eyes do not actually see....Thanks for pointing us in the proper direction....PEACE
