Don’t vote Republican or buy
what’s advertised, and only drink
in moderation, while you try
to love the thoughts that others think,
for while you are a Democrat
and buy the goods that you are sold,
and drink until it makes you fat,
believing all the things you’re told,
so nobody should think you’re toast,
and say “Don’t think so, ” when you speak,
afraid to be the one whom people most
enjoy to torment and to tweak,
don’t worry, you will always be
considered prescient and wise
by all those whom your friends agree
to democratically despise.
