Don't You Ask Poem by Melanie Emikohe

Don't You Ask

Rating: 5.0

Don't stare at the mists in my eyes
they are not children of grief;
don't embarrass me by prying
I would rather you look away.

You're concerned but how?
When I chanted for a flower
the gods sent me a bouquet.
Don't ask me again if I'm okay.

This is truly an excellent poem, the second stanza was an unexpected surprise! I enjoyed reading A 10.

You're concerned but how? When I chanted for a flower the gods sent me a bouquet. Don't ask me again if I'm okay.......human relationship that can sometimes disturb our peace, and the joy and comfort we get when we turn to God...... so have i understood your poem dear poetess. tony

Hi Mr. Brahmin. It just means that the girl in the poem is very happy because the man she loves is more than she hoped for. Thanks.
