Donald Trump Is An Oxymoron In Politics

Donald Trump is an oxymoron in politics
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
I shall begin with an aside on Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House of Representatives,
Who, as her Canadian compatriots in politics, Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott before her,
Sold over partially to the other side
The question arises as to whether their ideals are in question;

Ms. Pelosi who is 79 years old but looks svelte with make-up
Broke a tie (and I have this on the best of authority, my husband, who says that the Speaker can do so)
And a bill passed by the Republicans and the Democrat moderates
Which sends more funding to the border, giving up demands for stronger protection
For the migrant children ensnared in the nightmare of shelters there,
Is here to stay;

Ms. Wilson-Raybould and Ms. Philpott turned against the Trudeau government
By speaking against what is an oxymoron, "a policy and a fraud",
The act of support by the Prime Minister's Office
Towards the act of the civil engineering construction company,
SNC-Lavalin, who used bribery in African countries to get contracts;

If it was a case of irrigation projects and drinking water facilities and dams and bridges
In precisely those African countries, then I am positive that bribery was a just means to a just cause
However, the Trudeau government was labelled as being embroiled in a scandal
And the reputation of the Head of the Canadian country suffered a setback;

But a "bridge over troubled waters" was built by PM Trudeau's hard work and diligence
And air of honesty and the scandal has itself become water under the bridge
Which brings me to Pres. Trump's time in office thus far
And I do not judge him on his acts of debauchery
Except the one instance when as reports have it, he broke his marriage vows
When his wife was a new mother;

If his wife has accepted this, then we do not have the right to pass judgement
Over his moral aberration
But when it comes to his policies and acts of governance
We most certainly do and if he is an oxymoron in politics
In his own words, he is a hyperbole
Who is actually an overstatement in our eyes.
