Donate For Self Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Donate For Self

Rating: 5.0

Donate for self

Donate few of the essential things
Old age home needs
The ailing mother advised son
Who was occasionally seen?

I do not regret being here
You stay peacefully there
You have family and children
Make it real home and heaven

Mother was feeling sore
Having been pushed here
She was not curing even for a moment
She slowly whispered

One thing you remember
You will need them here
I pulled on with bare minimum
Donate and show some wisdom

This is what we experience today
Old parents are sent away
Old age homes have become refuge
Since own children have refused stay

An eye opener poem lamenting the growing tendency among youths in east to keep old parents away under the influence of materialistic consumerism. Thanks for sharing.10 points.
