Drive
Two days are gone
-much to do; on mind
-wandering is thoughts
-my poem not going right
It is fun to go out
-look around, open-eyed,
-see mirrors of the cars
-observing who drives
Seeing them play with hair,
-or nose; or the cellphone
Some frown; some smile
-drunk and lost in thoughts
Some smoke with hands out
-some angry as a bull in rodeo
Memories of the night
-theirs and mine
-relations of husband-wife,
-sliding to the edge of the bed;
-no warm pillow from lover's arm
See some hallucinate:
- "Friday… weekend's miracle."
Obey professor Priscilla's advice:
- "Write them down."
-on the largest canvas
-on an invisible easel in heart
Joy is blue, scattered as cloud
-I sip it; am rooster at a pond
-raise my head, look around
-at men, women, children
-varied are head to toe
-signs, smoke of a public bus
-rush pedestrians at zebra lines
-enjoy; sweet and sour is our life
