Drivel Poem by Edwin Robinette

Drivel

What did the elected one say
I heard, yet, I don't believe it
He said nothing at all
The people sigh

I see his mouth moving again
Hearing nothing I can comprehend
Words of pure drivel
The people clap

He paces, he nods, he smiles
Once again he speaks in circles
Spewing words of nonsense
The people cheer

Avoiding any questions
He leaves the platform
Shaking hands, kissing babies
Please vote for me

The people love him

Idiots
