Driven By Ambition Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Driven By Ambition

Tormented with incentive.
Helplessly I am determined.
And driven by ambition.
Leaving my expectations set too high.
Out of reach.
Beyond my touch.
But yet I keep,
My eyes searching the sky.
To identify my wants, dreams and wishes.

"Very nicely put.
You left out one important thing."

What is that?

"Your tormented visions.
Driven by your ambition and determination.
Seem to have no affect,
On the many excuses you make.
To accuse others of blocking to stop,
Your high expectations."

Thank God you are here.
So glad I am you noticed that too!
If people were not in my way,
I would have no excuses to make.

"You are impossible."

No.
Nothing is impossible.
But there are people who make it seem,
The impossible can not be achieved.

"Forget them! "

I've tried that already.
But the people keep reminding me of them.
