Du Fu: The Temple Of Zhuge Liang I Sought, To Be Nestled Among Cypresses

The Temple of The Prime Minister of Shu
- Du Fu

The temple of Zhuge Liang I sought,
To be nestled among cypresses
Outside Chengdu it ought;
It is Springtime -
Green, green grasses
Among the paving stones fine.
Twittering are yellow orioles among the branches.

Liu Bei visited him three times
To help him unify the country.
Zhuge Liang served him and two reigns faithfully.
How sad it was he passed away
Before victory winning.
For him throughout the ages,
Great men were grieving!
