Early Works - The Lonely Poem by David Harris

Early Works - The Lonely

Among the background of a crowd
with voices raised aloud
is heard a plaintive sigh
of all the lonely
who have imprisoned themselves
within their lonely soul
and they cry out
as loneliness is conquered by restlessness.

Within their womb they search
for love they’ve been rejected
they try to find in the past
what they should have selected,
but tossed to one side
because it might have hurt their pride.
Now they have to find it solemnly
to break out from being lonely.
