- Edge - a Tribute Poem by David Wood

- Edge - a Tribute

Rating: 4.8

The woman is now perfected,
Her dead

Body has reached it's final goal,
The ultimate Greek tragedy, now

Wrapped in the folds of her toga
Laid bare

For all history to mourn her loss.
She came but came so far and

Her loss has been immense to the
World of poetry for over five

Decades. Her world closed like
The petals of a rose that closes in

the garden when night falls. Yet her
Memory lives on, and her poetry has

Stood the test of time. She lit a candle
That still burns like

A shining star in the night sky,
Shining for all to see,

Where the onion moon has nothing to
Be sad about.

Congratulations on this excellent poem, Mr. Wood. A text of exemplary clarity, concise, so that I dare say any good poet would have liked to have written it. A hug.
