Effective Deceptions Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Effective Deceptions

Those who have lived,
On true lies to believe.
Know that false lies heard,
To tell them...
Is relatively a new phenomenon.
Told with more emphasis.
And convincingly without credibility.

Most of those older,
Know true lies to them told...
Have been documented and believed,
For centuries.
And these are the lies,
Long established to build and accept...
The foundations on which,
A quality of life has been based upon.
To not dispute the 'reality' of it.

These days...
True and false lies are in conflict.
Introducing effective deceptions to notice.
Yet left to question.
More than ever before.
Leaving those older,
Feeling their way of life threatened.
By the ones allowed,
To open those doors.
Exposing the worms as if to adore,
The wounding of pretentious mentalities.

And this has created division.
Along with delusions protected to defend.
As more false lies gain attention.
That has begun to begin,
Heated arguments to have no end.
Between the ones,
Left without a basis of truth.
Or what that is.
And others to comprehend,
What they have come to value...
Depends upon the length of time,
Their minds have been limited and confined...
To dishonesty.
