Vo kaun makhlook hoga
vo kis ko chah-hay ga?
mujh ko, mujhay bhrosa hai.
main us ka naam nahin leti
dar hai mujh par sher bun bethay ga.
tumahara yakeen kya hai
vo mujh se poocHta hai.

Ye k hamesha hum sub apni azaadi chahtay hain
siraf us waqt jab hum ek doosrayy k hona chahtay hain
main us ko ye jawaab deta yhue kehti hoon
k sub aaye mera dukh door karnay k liye
aur aaj ka din mere liye ek tohfa hai -
main tyaar bethi hoon
tum ko apna bana-nay k liye.

A Gift

Who is that creature
and who does he want?
Me, I trust. I do not
attempt to call out his
name for fear he will
tread on me. What do
you believe, he asks.

That we all want to be
alone, I reply, except when
we do not; that the world
was open to my sorrow
and ate most of it; that
today is a gift and I am
ready to receive you.
