Maybe we expect too much from those we love
Perhaps it's a lot to expect that they be loyal and faithful
She thought of how it could be a privilege for her to at least have a 1 minute talk with her man as some kids never get to have that
She has tried to be all he could ever want
Tried to do all he could ever wish for
But "enough" didn't seem to be any of those
You see, they say sharing is caring
But this kind of sharing could destroy every piece of human soul
She sat and waited for her turn as He went on a hustle
Which these days is "fishing for girls" instead of money
She waited patiently,
sometimes the waiting killed her
Sometimes it killed her emotions, that she was left with nothing to feel
"Maybe if she was all of the women he wanted
Maybe if she drew her eyebrows in bold Arial black
or maybe, maybe she needed a Malaysian hair instead of Brazilian
Maybe it's her skin tone or her waist"
Now that is what's "enough"!
Aren't we enough of fixing what's not broken; us
Aren't we enough of bending back and forth for them to notice all that we are
Just another normal day for a woman who has loved until her love was deminished
Left with no emotions
Left with no strength or voice to speak
If you intend to love her, it better be real
Make it real that her emotions resurrect
Make it real that she is able to free her hand to hold yours
May she learn to crack those walls of sadness with a smile again
She only needs her strength to love again
For she went beyond enough pain
A very powerful commentary on man-woman relationship and the hypocrisy of male mentality. Women have always been at the receiving end. The concluding lines carry an advice for course correction. How sad: She has tried to be all he could ever want Tried to do all he could ever wish for But.... Now that is what's enough!
