Empath Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Empath

Alone I wish to be forgotten
Never bring me home where friends I'll find
Time is hell relived past days that follow
Leave me be and leave my side

No voice relieves these feelings borrowed
Only distance from, living kind
The heart I pity for a sorrow
Why must so many thoughts take form inside

In the silence is a stolen moment
So rare and yet I find
The silence filled with haunting echoes
I can feel through the, smallest eyes

They live and life is what I feel
All their thoughts belong to, mine
A spider looks upon a mortal
We are the same, She and I

There are the moments without objection
Sometimes a presence feels alive
Among the creatures of the forest
Still not far enough for me to hide
