Empty Heart
I met her where the river
Broke on the green shore
The very first sight was enchanting
Within my mind, I began to adore
I never expressed my love to her
Even when we were alone
Fire of passion burnt me incessantly
But I never thought to atone
When I had not seen her for someday
Life became void and I became insatiable
I wrote poems adoring her beauty,
Though not dazzling yet commendable
Her presence was like the moon
Along with the twinkling star
Alighting my dark and sojourn world
I elated for sunny days were not too far.
One occasion, I pried on her heart
Just to know if there was an image of anyone
In utter dismay, I found that
Her transparent heart bore none
