Emulated To Distort Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Emulated To Distort

Money to feed a need to get it.
May lead to controversy.
But represents,
The importance it serves...
A capitalistic society.
Fed on materialism.

And a democracy,
Torn between hypocrisy and delusion.
Finding to decide on which day,
To exploit one for the other.
For the purpose to satisfy...
In debate.
Who ultimately is left to feast,
Over the right to emulate,
Yet distort.
A righteous wholesomeness.
Nowhere found displayed.
With evidence proven to exist.

It has always been about the money.
Regardless how it is gotten to get.
Under the table.
Below the gutter.
Or in the highest of places.
Where corruption is allowed.
And given permission to sit,
Doing it to imitate...
Images approved charaded to masquerade!

It has and will always be,
About the money.
And a window dressing of humanity,
On display.
Yet betrayed on a daily basis.
Done to satisfy and preserve the image.
No matter how hollow the representation!
