Enchantment Poem by Terrance Mawanga

Enchantment

Never will I,
plunge into that pool,
filled with devilish screams of agony,
and of overflowing emotions as times forge on,
while rain releases a sacred roaring laughter,
darkness pounces mercilessly
odour of human blood colonising the atmosphere,
desires ravaging freely with no control,
gluttony possessing many like a demon,
heinous sorcerers sitting on the thigh of humanity,
and drinking from the cistern of overflowing corruption,
now as i see it all too clearly,
i hope never to join in the rush to the summit,
but instead storm into my own haven,
grab a pen and paper,
and dwell enchanted,
by a deeper inexplicable,
serenity.

Brilliant with your outpouring of disgust at the greed and ambition of people to rise to the top they have no time to see and hear the beauty around them!
