My heart thumped loudly
Thoughts raced wildly
Feet rooted to the ground
Lips unable to make a sound
I saw you from a distance
One glance was enough
To bring back memories
Rushing from the past
As you met my gaze
I sensed it in your face
That your eyes played
The same scenes of old days
You scrambled to get away
Were gone without a trace
The beauty of an instant's magic
Was lost in the rush hour traffic
I realised it was all over
The end of our forever.
