What a night!
Was able to see a performance
By one of my favorites -
Engelbert Humperdinck
That day, a two hour drive
Destination - Wendover, Nevada
Soon tickets in hand,
assigned seating -
Section G Row 8 Seats 5 and 6
Cannot Wait!
Engelbert did not fail
What a show!
Such a wonderful night
Singing many of his hits,
Reminiscing with the audience
His Las Vegas life
Engelbert, a young 82
With many years still ahead
Living life to its fullest
Performance over too soon
Only a poem to remember the night
I used to like Engelbert Humperdinck's songs too, although I never saw him in concert. He is amazing for his age, when many other pop stars have faded away.
Yes Michael, he is legendary. He has sold more than 150 million records world wide. My wife and I were so LUCKY to see him perform in person. What a night it was! ! ! ! !
I remember old Engelbert! Actually, I remember the YOUNG Engelbert. What a joy it must have been to be able to watch him perform live after all these years! I envy your experience, and thanks for sharing this!
Aunty, His singles Release Me and The Last Waltz topped the UK music charts in 1967 and sold more than a million copies each! ! ! !
Engelbert Humperdinck is singing many of the hits. This is nice to o see a performance lovely performance of one of the favorites. This poem is really very beautifully and interestingly penned. This is a memorable poem.
Kumarmani, Thank you for your kind comments! ! It was a wonderful performance, the house was packed. The audience sang along with many of the songs. It was a terrific time, well deserving of a poem.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
He was a tremendous singer in his time. 'There goes my reason for living'.
