Entire Society At Once Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Entire Society At Once

Rating: 5.0

On many occasions
People do mention
About my cleverness
Bluntly on face

They are scared about my sudden rise
Within short period I have surprised them all
Was it my sincere desire to reach on top?
I give rest to such an argument and stop

Who has framed such rules?
That majority of the people
Still suffer for the want of interpretation
So what we all do for the restoration?

“Unity” this option strikes most
I decide to go for it at any cost
The goal is in mind but certainly not lost
People must follow the suit

Why poor people should die?
On the name of caste, creed and feel not free
Are we forcing them to follow crooked design?
One day they shall be in revolt with regret sign

If constitution guarantees equal rights
Why has it unfair treatment for reasonable fight?
How many pieces shall we able to make out of one bread piece?
Will the entire society be able to live with peace?

Unity keeps all in good stead; failing which, all surely will go to pieces ever!

Against the backdrop of our constitution and the talk of equality, there are many questions jostling for a palatable answer. The poem brings into focus the predicament of our society. Very thoughtful.
