In the essence
of our life
we come to feel, to see
the vulnerability of our souls
The pain of passion
the emptiness of resignation
the triumph of love
the enthusiasm of spirit
Where would I be if I could not see
forever condemned,
blind to the reality
of life’s gifts
My heart turns to stone
if released from feeling,
sinking into the void
of eternal cold death
But I see the hurt,
I feel the despair,
sooth the open wounds
with the balsam of care
Chains of reality
gouge my soul
who will remit my sentence
cancel my transgression
Forever accused of
high treason to see to feel
let it be, for I have
felt and seen true harmony
The gates of my prison are
doomed to destruction
for life conquers death
and love conquers all!
Started thinking Dr. Strangelove after the first two lines. Got gratitude with the rest, than some Strangelove in the end again. POWERFUL THIS! However the reader perceives the message, your aim is unerring and true. Perfect by me. George
