Even If True To Hear It Heard Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Even If True To Hear It Heard

Although the doing of this,
Many are reluctant...
To admit to themselves.
No one born to grow to learn.
And with breath to breathe to exist.
Could have possibly,
Done it to do...
Without one or few mistakes to make.
To still as they grow older to age,
Claim to accuse others to blame...
For lies they have told.
This...
Has always survived threats of death.
Warnings and raised eyebrows.

Not to know when lies,
On and to the ones anticipating...
To be deceived.
And not truth to hear even if it is,
True.
To disbelieve it heard,
From one to hear and lies habitually?
Can be a disappointment to discover,
One known to be a liar...
Had found the meaning of truth.

"Go ahead.
Lie to me.
I know what you are trying to do.
You can't fool me.
Lie to me."

-Why would I want to lie to you? -

"BECAUSE FROM YOU I EXPECT IT.
Don't you dare,
Start telling me the truth now.
Do you understand?
You are not going to disappointment me,
Like this!
You have no regard for my feelings at all.
LIE TO ME! "
