Everyone Pays; French Lesson

Rating: 5.0

A pathetic result
of the loitering that comfortable seating fosters
is backless bench mall seats.

A pathetic result
of feet on seats in trams
could be seats banned,
everyone having to stand.

'Ma boustifaille'
is a long way to say
'my tucker'.

'A pear', 'une poire',
is also 'a dupe' and 'a sucker'.

'A mean-spirited man'
is, shortly, 'un homme mesquin'.
