Exasperating Life Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Exasperating Life

Life has a way of exasperating us through experiences that leave
us empty and at a loss, not knowing which way to turn, remember-
ing that life is temporary and this too shall pass.

Yet it doesn't lessen the pain and suffering, especially that of
death and loss, somehow we manage to find our way through it all
and continue living.

Although our beings have definitely been changed in ways we never
could have imagined when we were younger and living life like it
would never end.

All three of these stanzas ends with an admission of how hard it is to deal with some of the non-negotiable events in life. But your poem is written from the other side of things, after you have weathered at least part of these hardships and have some confidence the rest can be dealt with. It's amazing, isn't, that you can write a poem and mere words have such power over these deep sorrows. But given the right mind set and a pure heart - both of which you have - the words do succeed.
