Exit Signs Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Exit Signs

Practice.
The having of good thoughts.
Seek them sought.
In such upsetting depressing days.

Practice.
With time to give.
And as often as possible,
To put a positive imprint...
Within your mind that stays.

The only thing that may come easy,
Is the finding of accusations made.
And others to blame.
For living their lives,
You know nothing about.

The only thing that may come easy,
Is the attempt to be involved...
In someone else's business.
Leaving your own business,
In need of much repair.
With you being there to do it.

Practice.
With time to give.
And as often as possible,
To put a positive imprint...
Within your mind that stays.

Practice.
The having of good thoughts.
Seek them sought.
In such upsetting depressing days.
And this to do to allow,
On a daily basis.
Just may be the cure,
With this remedy to find...
Less time spent,
Being involved with nonsense.
That has nothing to do with you.
To discover...
No benefit comes to anyone,
Who accepts to believe...
Inviting confusion and conflicts,
Is a way to achieve peace of mind.
And a happiness to have it.

That road to take,
Once on it to travel...
Many have found,
Too crowded.
And few, if any, are the exit signs.
Or those on missions of rescue.
