Face Like A Work Of Art Poem by Paula Glynn

Face Like A Work Of Art

You're so beautiful,
Your face a work of art,
You have stolen this heart,
But you have not betrayed,
For you are no one's slave,
You're strong and brave,
With eyes that speak of your purity,
Your sun lighting up my every morning,
And I am not broken: I am free,
But you are mine, and we belong together,
Your face like a work of art.

I love your soul, a deep affection,
And your eyes as deep as a dark blue ocean,
There is no other like you,
And you paint in the sky each morning,
Me seeing your magic when we're alone,
Magic that sparks with wonder,
Like all the galaxy,
That this earth spins in,
And I can feel your wonderful voodoo,
Your love like magic being cast upon me,
A love charm in your palm,
Your heart bringing me home,
Like a dove sent from above,
Your colours like a rainbow,
And when I find that pot of gold,
I will give you all the riches of the world.

Your face could've been sculpted by Michelangelo,
Your skin deep honey from the sun,
Your eyes stolen from the stars,
That light up the sky at night,
Every curve and line of your cheekbones perfection,
Your smile so real and heavenly,
For you could've been created by paradise,
And how I adore those knowing eyes,
That sparkle with wonder and mischief,
You are my angel, so unique and quirky,
You could take care of the world,
Your heart bursting with compassion,
And you mean the world to me everyday,
And you have helped me find passion,
Trust, courage, faith, strength and love,
No day filled with dread,
And no one can take the paradise that is you.
