Faith Tested Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Faith Tested

I would not bet against anyone,
Appearing to be down and out.
And about to give up,
On a struggle to accept defeat.
Especially if they are smiling.
With it known by no one else,
That a test to pass...
Has only God to judge,
If their faith is true to keep.
Since impressions left made,
Are often deceived.

Leaving the one to know who they are.
To complete the test with obstacles to face.
With a doing to erase heard negativity,
Attempting to prevent one with kept faith...
From moving forward to expect.

Regardless who or what,
Is placed on their path to believe...
Whatever they do will prove,
Can intimidate the faith one has.
With a perceiving it had to be faked.

And I would not bet against anyone,
Appearing to be down and out.
Yet smiles as if,
They had just found the key...
That opens the door,
Where all their dreams...
Were awaiting for them kept.
Not to know...Who.
Or what it is,
That has their faith tested!
Done and prepared,
To reward them for the effort endeavored.
