Faithful Friends Poem by Christina Simmons

Faithful Friends

Some friends are very envious
Some friends want to be in your shoes
Want what you have, they visualise cushiness

You are in the arms of luxury
Some friends are filled with vexation over you
Only able to produce thorns before your eyes

Some friends are so full of malice and mischief
They can drive you mad! Nuts
Seem to have pure condemnation for you
Secretly wishing bad luck befalls you
Alas! Remains furious with your characteristic

Cherished them nonetheless, forgive their
minor mistakes, accept their imperfections
They are all imitations of who you are;

Think of them as having wounded hearts
Can not quote 'Importance Of Friendship' Enough!
Friends exist to brighten up our darkest days
Making dark clouds a thing of the past.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem tells how our friends can be. Nonetheless we must cherished them. They come to teach us about ourselves
Accept their bad points as well as their flaws. Because they're teaching us about ourselves. Also having a dig at girlfriends whom I thought were friends. They stabbed me in the back. It brings to mind the song by Bob Marley: 'Who The Cap Fits'.
