Falling Apart Poem by Brooke Luchich

Falling Apart

Rating: 5.0

What do you do when it feels like everything’s falling apart,
When you want to make things right but don’t know where to start.
If your brother didn’t want to live what would you do,
And it feels like your sister’s taking everything out on you.
Your dad says that he doesn’t want you anywhere near him again,
And your mum seems uncaring towards all of your pain.
Aren’t your teenage years supposed to be the best,
To me they seem a whole lot harder than all of the rest.
Whoever said that life is tough was definitely right,
To get through each day seems to be an ongoing fight.
What if every smile you put on your face was always fake,
If every time you saw someone happy your heart would break.
When everyone thinks you’re happy because you’re good at lying
No one really sees all the pain and hours of crying.
You’re scared of being hurt so you push everyone else away,
No realising that it’s causing you more pain each day.
But somehow you’ve built the strength to push through,
Even when it feels like the whole world is against you.
You continue to hold your head high as you go through it all,
Because your not letting anyone win by seeing you fall.
