Falling Short Poem by Dislocated Heart

Falling Short

Last thing I need is you giving me a lecture on sarcasm,
Sure, Kick me when I'm down,
Knock couple punches in my face,
make me believe I'm a waste.

My feelings aside,
twist me up, and cast me off to the side.
Have you ever asked.. 'whats on my mind? '
No, cuz you're too busy getting your flirt on,
to feel what I'm going thru inside.

Each line you cast out,
tangles me up with no doubt,
that you might just be the girl,
to take this lifeless of a soul,
out into the world,
Giving me the breath of air I've been needing..
The dream that's been haunting,
and a life long of loving, that I've been wishing..

Sadly, with the truth in my face,
I am facing Facts, and you are the Getaway.
The one that I will always want..
the one I will always live for..
to have another chance, to once more, adore..

Love does funny things,
but I love with a clear conscious.
Clearly, I am your mister right..
but I'm no... Mister right now...

I guess I fall short, to the player status..
