望梅止渴空欢喜
画饼充饥真苦悲
碧水环山白鹳远
春风化雨彩云归

Quench one's thirst by thinking of plums
console oneself with false hopes
Draw cakes to allay hunger
real bitterness and sorrow

Life-giving spring breeze and rain
the color clouds return
The blue water around a hill
the white storks are remote
