False Sources Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

False Sources

Punished.
Most of us become.
Allowing this to self inflict.
Done to hear and believe,
Something not to occur.
Yet rumored to accept,
Are these false sources.

Accepting false sources,
Can and causes...
A host of miseries.
Unneedlessly.
And difficult it is to listen,
To anyone patiently.
Expressing their apologies.

Apologies? !
Delivered.
Sincere with tears.
And trembling lips.
Coming out of the mouths,
Of those...
Who chose deliberately,
To participate in the ruining...
Someone else's reputation.
Identity, dignity and integrity!
With it then to expect,
A warm hug of forgiveness.
And a promise to forget,
Their misdeeding activities.

And yet...
This to do or not,
Results in more lies told.
Coming out of the mouths,
Of the ones incapable...
To do nothing more or less.
As taught to them,
Throughout their lives.
That a gossiping to deceive,
Has more credibility...
Than truth to believe it,
Ever has had!
