Farewell Poem by Holly Jamestone

Farewell

Rating: 4.0

The light has come to rescue me
And confidence, my friend
Will conquer fear and lift me up
And guide me till the end

My life has changed and I am spared
From ever going through
More yearning or a heartstring torn
From holding onto you

Things have changed but life goes on
As does a moving stream
And sometimes love's bright sparkle
Loses luster and its gleam

Now on the way to brighter days
I do not feel alone
I won't look back or rue the times
I waited by the phone

It's more than time for me to go
And seek the love I crave
And treasure what you tried to give
Not what you never gave

This piece simply bounces along. It is not filled with ire or blame, instead optimism shines through.
