Farewell my love for I must go
To walk that lonely road ahead,
But here my heart shall stay with you
While I alone must face that dread.

Please spare a kindly thought for me
As all my love to you I'll send,
For I shall always think of you
From dawn until each day does end.

Then on that dark and barren plain
I know the stars will always shine,
And as they do I'll make a wish
That one day soon you shall be mine.

Till then my love I'll not forget
For you shall never leave my mind,
And live within my lasting dreams
For there I know that you I'll find.
