Fear Poem by Gerald Opio

Fear

Apparently, we all need a life so ecstatic, always on the high.
But, sometimes we are limited, or even cut short in our persuit for euphoria in our lives.

In our mind, engraved is that valiance that can shove us beyond our threshold.
However, Ms weakling who engraves herself in our hearts and minds halts our endeavors, always on the watch whenever we try to make that bold step ahead.

Ms weakling, whose name is fear, refrains us from so much that life can offer, enslaving our minds.
Restraining us from achieving our full potential in areas that we are conversant with.

Perhaps, how can we mitigate fear, that one major hindrance to living our fullest lives.
Practice, can probably work, as it perfects us, in all our weak areas.

Meditation, and perhaps self talk, encouraging words to self can do, or indeed a supportive friend.
All these, can contribute to a certain shift in perception, because the harbor of fear is in the mindset.

So with prudent declutter of the mind, we can free ourselves from fear, that mastery that ensnares us, thus rendering us inept.
Once we are free from the ardent grasp of her chains, then indeed we are free, to fully explore the world and its cosmic oblation.
