Feeding The God Poem by Parameswaran Nair Damodaran Nair

Feeding The God

Rating: 5.0

Belief -who makes the Annadanm offering will be blessed- is strong
The list of devotees sponsoring free lunch in the temple is too long
The temple dining hall is houseful with VIPs, invitees, hosts and guests

The God inside is not at all pleased, instead grows restless day by day
Orphans whose foster mother is the streets are fighting with stray dogs
For a morsel from the heap of food-waste dumped outside the temple walls

A spark from the fire of their unquenched hunger will cast a towering inferno
That will reduce to ashes, one day, the streets, the temple and the town.
The idols, the antiques and the citadel - all our precious heritage
Will be swallowed by the irresistibly erupting formidable whirls
Thrust out by the thirst that suppressed in the disowned for long

Listen to the knocks at your door, it may be the half naked kid or the too frail old
Having been denied access to the temple dining hall is sent to you by the Lord
Who is aware of your despair that you cannot afford to afree lunch offering.
Feed the hungry, it will be dearer to Him than a pompous free lunch offering.

Thanks a lot dear poetess. Nobody can realise the fire that burns in the hearts of hungry poor except those who keep in their heart a pinch of consideration for them under humanitarian inclination

A thoughtful, insightful, incisive and meaningful poem. It vividly depicts one of the flaws of humanity. So sad but true.

The poet takes us to the real world where the needy is not noticed and served, instead people tries to TEACH THEIR MINDS that they have spent this much money for god, so god would be pleased to bless them. Let s think twice before donating to charity.WILL IT SERVE ATLEAST ONE TIME MEAL FOR A HUNGRY STOMACH! ! ! ! !
