Ferris Wheel Poem by Rob Lamberton

Ferris Wheel

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes we are spinning round and round
Our feet don't touch down enough on common ground
But if we open our eyes and look around
The view is very good and prospects fair
I'll be listening wide eyes as you breathe in air

O' our world keeps spinning round and round
And we're not close enough and so we've found
A way to come together to the mound
To see with eyes together far and wide
And swinging singing playing side by side

Sometimes we are waiting in suspense
With emotions calm or sometimes even tense
But the Sun is glaring in our defense
And the Ferris Wheel is spinning round and round
As arm in arm we keep walking through the town

This wonderful poem resonates with me. Riding a ferris wheel is fun but a little scary for some due to fear of heights. The lovely images made me at close range with this amazing ride.

Are feet don't touch down enough on common ground. I believe you mean 'our' at the beginning of this line.

''As arm in arm we keep walking through the town''. Stronger together. Beautiful poem full with imagism.
