Festering Emotions Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Festering Emotions

Listlessly feeling nothing, giving in, no feelings as of yet,
because a numbness has set in this heart, put there by a
friend who decided to abuse, throwing away our friendship.

Afraid to approach her, never getting time to talk things
over, she let everything fester and grow beyond and type
of imagined proportions.

Throwing sanity to the wayside, developing a barrier to keep
others away, yet still trying to keep them close, wanting
to be friends in spite of how she treated them on a daily
basis.
