Fever Pitch Poem by Matthew Holloway

Fever Pitch

Fever pitch
Anticipation
Breath held
Heart rate skips
Each minute counted
Songs sung in unison
The play of the game
Never follows the rules
Anything could happen
Giving everything
To the escape of the game
A bond almost like family
Amongst all fans
We are the team
As the team are us
In those we chant and cheer
Are those we trust
It's a fever pitch
To the final whistle
