Few Care Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Few Care

Few care,
About what is there,
Going on in their own neighborhoods.
If it has not yet affected them,
'Why care? '
Is how they feel and attitude to give.

Few care,
About who's feelings they hurt.
Or speak disparaging,
To spew cuss words or treat as if dirt.
If it is not done to them,
To know that feeling felt.
These folks could care less,
About the feelings of someone else.

It's all about image and perception.
People live to give image.
To sell it sold to believe it real.
Those familiar with sincerity,
Know it quick to feel.
And not the B.S. most deliver,
To perceive an imitation...
Is just as good as anything else,
They fake done to do.

And...
Who will dispute,
The many good fakers...
Around today easily seen to be found.
Feeling nothing but shallowness,
Discussed with devoted priority.
Everyday to it given.
