Fighting These Feelings Poem by Brianna Trombley

For such a long time I've wanted you, waited for you
Back then it wasn't what you wanted, but now you do

I can't tell if you're playing, or if what you say is true
If you feel the way you claim to feel, I wish I only knew

I have a shell around my heart, to protect it from the pain you might inflict
Either you love me or you don't, either way you have my heart tricked

Im fighting these feelings, I have no want to fall
If you're not going to catch me, I must stand tall

You want me to put myself out there, leave my heart on the line
But how can I know you're not going to break it like you did last time
