Filling These Pages Poem by Jeri Martindale

Filling These Pages

Have I filled these pages a reflection of me?
Sitting quietly, still thinking, the world surrounding me.
Is it really that extreme?
Recently I noticed the world was only embracing me.

I smile as I hear a voice calling out to me expecting me to celebrate life free and spontaneously.

Once I thought I had the control, however I have once again come to realize I am only along for the ride of my life.

Pleasures and pain rain down from the sky; yet always reassurance and faith, climbing high, as the rays of the sun appear from behind the clouds comforting all as it shines down.

Beauty at its best spiraling around, delivering a message without making a sound.

Walking down life's winding rode, it doesn't really matter now which way I want to go, for I alone am not in control.

A dream can't be found, see; for the dream searches out each person quietly, whispering, waiting for you to reach out for it; instantly calming you. Leading the way, dreams want to come true.

The world surrounds me, I am allowing it to, exploding emotions speaking only the truth.

My life now rests with you.
Trusting each embrace the world lays upon me. Its leading, I am following, its calling out for me, for you.
The dream chooses life, leading you through, seeking only to embrace the preciousness of life as it becomes true.
