Final Love Song Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Final Love Song

Silent crying, tears softly being expressed
in love's dying sorrow.

Even after falling away from life, I don't
see you anymore in blossoms of rose petals,
as you say good-bye in a final love song.

This is a tender poem. It conveys a mood which is hard to put into words, I'll put it this way: Two friends nurture Monarch butterfly cocoons. When the butterfly emerges from the chrysalis, they delicately take it outside, place it on a leaf and a few moments later it flies off to join the migration to Mexico. The mood of this poem is what I felt today when I gently put a female Monarch on a leaf. Both poem and Monarch action convey tenderness, hope, kindness and fulfillment. And the poem's loveliness will prevail longer than the leaf or the butterfly.
